One of the people I was very glad to come across in 2007, was someone I had actually come across in 2006 when I read a report he had put out countering the latest Internet guru claims.
Staring out from the page was a black-and-white photo of a man looking like he was from the 1950’s and was selling soap powder. I read his info, and, sorry to say, I dismissed it.
In 2007 I was given a direct recommendation to check out J.F. (Jim) Straw, and this time I took it to heart.
Jim IS straight out of the American 1950’s.
Among many other lines he sold Raleigh Products, Fuller Brushes, Watkins Products, and Avon Cosmetics, before working hands-on with selling “over four-hundred million dollars ($400,000,000) worth” of an amazing variety of products and industry lines that gives him an huge knowledge base and association with a vast network of expert sources.
Jim knows word of mouth inside and out, and much more besides.
Let me give you a couple of Jim gems…
“Tunnel vision” … represented by a closed-in and very narrow view of the objectives of the company; like looking through a tunnel …is one of the curses of big, bureaucratic business, [however] it is an absolute necessity for beginning entrepreneurs.”
“Granted, there is bad (counter-productive) information out there. BUT - there is NO WAY of telling good information from bad information, UNTIL YOU TRY IT. Judging the value of information without using it is like trying to judge the flavor of a pie without ever tasting it.”
Best of all Jim’s monthly newsletter includes a section for readers to send in announcements, comments, and questions.
His line is…
“Can you stump the old master? — Betcha can’t!”
He is serious. He will read your emails, and he does reply. He has replied to me, and to others too.
Stuck with a problem in your business?
J.F. (Jim) Straw might be the guide you need.
His e-letters usually come on the first Tuesday of the month, so I recommend you sign up and start learning from the ‘old master’ immediately:

[Added Note: Jim invited me to be on the Board of Advisors on something else which I recommend you check out, The American Association of Business People & Entrepreneurs™ (aka the AABPE™) - sorry to my non-American readers, but I hope the rest of Jim's info is of benefit to you.]

Hi Martin,
I came across Jim myself a few years ago. He certainly has an amazing story to tell & I always find his newsletters informative.
P.S. You might want to check your pop up on this site because every time I click on the link from your email it affects the page & sends it to page not found.
Another beautiful summers day in Sydney Australia!
Hi Gaida,
Jim had a server crash at the end of last year and says he lost about half his reader list, so I hope you are one of those like me who is still getting his stuff.
Thanks for the P.S. Yes it’s an IE issue that is intermittent.
I really like the personal touch your site offer to 1st time readers. I was invited here by http://www.JamesBrausch.com who is a great marketer himself. I’ll have to thank him for the invite.
J.F. (Jim) Straw is NOT one of the self-proclaiming gurus who is prancing around sharing fluff woven, hype filled BS.
His information is just that, INFORMATION (tangible)!!!
J.F. (Jim) Straw is a man of ethics and integrity - - almost a lost quality toady!
