The Single Key Word of Mouth Skill

Up on the top of my blog I have my formula for successful Word of Mouth in small business.

It’s simply this:

WOW! + Follow-up + ‘Call To Action’

I will be going into more detail on each of these in future, but let me start with the best.

If you do only ONE thing in your business to get word of mouth I would suggest you do this…

FOLLOW-UP

If you don’t follow-up with people then it is painfully difficult to get word of mouth happen.

However when you follow-up so many powerful things are going to happen for you automatically and instantly.

The first is, you will WOW! people.

Doing any sort of follow-up at all will take you beyond almost any of your small business competitors. Customers appreciate follow-up.

The second is that you immediately get a ‘Call To Action’.

You are from a business, so even if you do zero selling when you follow up, the person will have the connection already in their head.

Even if you don’t know how to introduce the topic, just by following up they will make the connection for you. If they want more of what you offer they will spontaneously have the idea to pay you money.

All these together will automatically produce the formula you need for not only repeat business, but also word of mouth referrals as well.

If in doubt about how to market better, get started on following people up.
